As a small kitten, Jem was very pretty. She did not appear to have any particularly outstanding qualities. She followed me everywhere, and made it clear that I was her special person. I would have found it very difficult to part with her and in any case she was the only silver girl in the litter, since it was my intention to concentrate on breeding Silver Shadeds.

By
the time she was four months old, she began to look quite promising. Her
Show career began at The Oriental Cat Association Show in June 1995, when she was five months old, when to my
surprise and delight, she went Best Exhibit in Show.
